Reconstruction of barrier-free ways in the Stadtpark completed

During summer 2010, all ways and paths from the park area leading to the Parkrestaurant and its terrace as well as to the event facilities were renovated and shaped more comfortably.

In 2010, the Hannover Congress Centrum was awarded the international certificate for sustainability as first congress centre in Lower Saxony. It also received a European best mark.

The Green Globe Certification is a globaly recognized certificate in the event business which evaluates the ecological, economic and social sustainability of the event and congress locations.

The HCC received the highest rating of all similar institutions in Europe, said Dr. Peter Zimmer, Auditor of Green Globe at the presentation of the certification. The 125 auditing criteria on the basis of which the HCC was judged are numerous: reduction of water and energy consumption by using renewable energy sources, barrier-free ways, contract partners and suppliers from out of the region as well as a progressive waste disposal concept.
