Since January 1, 2008 an environmental zone has been established in Hannover starting at the motorways around the city. This environmental zone prohibits driving cars with a high pollutant emission. This also has an effect on the streets leading to the HCC and the Congress Hotel am Stadtpark.

In Hannover´s low emission zone only cars with a green environmental badge are allowed.
